Food is Medicine

Lacking access to nutritious food has been shown to lead to poor health, including higher rates of chronic disease. The rates are even higher among people with low incomes and people of color. Health care organizations have a unique role to play in advancing programs to increase consumption of healthy food, particularly among vulnerable populations most affected by diet-related illnesses.
